Proactive, Success-Oriented.
DVBDiMare, Van Vleck & Brown, LLC (DVB), a government relations and communications firm, was formed April 18, 2005. The new firm, run by Dominic DiMare, Stan Van Vleck, and Amy Brown provides lobbying and communications services to their public agency and private business clients. Van Vleck brings governmental service experience, including work on environmental policy issues for California Legislative Committee, U.S. Senate, as well as Governor Wilson. Brown, a former lobbyist for the League of California Cities, will continue representing the firm's clients before the State Legislature and expanding the firm's client base.

DVB's highly effective political and technical capabilities are unmatched in California 's legislative and administrative arenas. Until recently, we served as governmental relations advocates for the law firm of Kahn, Soares & Conway, LLP. DVB's professionals have over 50 years of combined experience working in and around government. Our team has held public government positions for both Democrats and Republicans, as well as private sector roles in governmental relations. DVB provides a wide array of bipartisan government services to clients such as issue analysis, legislative advocacy, procurement, regulatory/administrative actions and crisis communications.

Our team is well prepared to assist clients.
The highlights of Stan Van Vleck's governmental services include working on environmental policy issues for California Legislative Committee, U.S. Senator, as well as Governor Wilson. One of his roles, while working for Governor Wilson, was assisting in the drafting of the California Governor's Reorganization Plan which created Cal-EPA, and its subordinate department. Stan continues to work closely with many of his former colleagues from the Wilson Era who are part of the Schwarzenegger Administration.

As the managing partner of Kahn, Soares & Conway's Governmental Relations Practice, Stan has represented trade associations and private companies in the area of governmental relations both in legislative and regulatory matters. One of his primary areas of counsel has been chemical related issues for my clients including, but not limited to, U.S. EPA Region IX, Cal-EPA, ARB, DPR, DTSC and OEHHA.

Amy Brown has significant experience with the Legislature and with local government. Amy served as staff to an influential Democrat legislator, where she worked closely with key individuals, such as Senator Don Perata, who has since become President Pro Tem of the California Senate. In addition, Amy served as a very effective lobbyist for the League of California Cities, which represents all of California 's 478 cities. While with the League, Amy developed close working relationships with city council members, mayors and city administrators of cities such as Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose.

Our team engages in many different types of activities on behalf of our clients from both a policy and technical perspective. We represent clients on technical matters such as qualifying and upgrading health and environmental studies; negotiated risk assessment parameters; (including drafting risk mitigation proposals); and dispersion modeling variables (air, water and soil).

As a general business practice, our team stresses frequent and direct contact with clients. We find this regular contact serves as a constant check on our progress. Further, it allows us to be proactive on their behalf, rather than reactive to the ever-changing political landscape in Sacramento.
